Hidden in Plain Sight

as though kept behind curtains
or upon a shelf
long since forgotten about
holding childhood relics
or
remnants of a world
that only becomes plain
when you’re attempting to organize
put things in place
and take count.

These minor changes
to familiarity
grant a type of mysticism.
Providing just enough room
to believe
some sort of magic
exists.
