That Which Must Not Be Spoken

The meaning of which
is said to be indescribable
though the people ‘saying’ this
cannot be trusted to have tried describing.
They just haven’t figured out a way to say that
emotions catch up to us in different ways
holding our attention or not
inspiring us or not
giving us pause or not.
(Among many others of course.)
The persistent unwillingness
to at least make an attempt
at a little creativity
provides far more definition of personality
then a willingness to interpret.

Staring at walls
perfectly made
with only the hint
of a burgeoning crack
having been painted over
time and time again
in the feverish attempt
to disappear completely.
