For Whatever Reason

The wind is a whisper
like the most elegant of hushed songs
promising the love of lifetimes
in exchange for the same
flowing through grass
over rocks
above waters
around old wooden ruins
meant once as shelter
having felt the touch of that old wind
heard its whispers
pledged its life to that love
for whatever gain
for whatever reason.
