A Less Discerning Tongue

Scoffing at problems that seemed lesser
like bees fading
lions dying
people betraying
cultures revolting
time spinning
swill in a watered down bourbon
awaiting a less discerning tongue.

And people say “But, they don’t care.”
and people say “They care too much!”
and there is furor
and there is void
and finally
there is the remembrance of things past
if only in dreams.
