Point, Meaning

Arbitrarily deciding
at an early age
that there was something more
to this whole thing
than just being around.
Trying not to confuse
the purity of that moment
for the rest of a life
with concepts far bigger
far more daunting
like meaning
or point.
Creating a system
for continual conceptual failure seems
in hindsight
like a radically poor decision.
