Rash Decisions

Behind us there was a man
in an motorized wheelchair.

He sat between two lines judging
guessing
hoping to pick the right lane.
Imagining a series of choices
that should be simpler
when made with all the information
laid bare.

Leaving so many rash decisions behind
having experienced the consequence of their failures
in real-time.

And here he was
attempting to navigate
a grocery checkout.
