Siren’s Call

a siren’s call
from across the pond
where the wind isn’t blowing
and the noise travels
from sea to sea, whispering in your ear

“Come home. Come home.”

and the waves lap against the low marble
pushing seaweed back and forth
in a dance repeated
for all time
